Last night I was woken in the middle of the night and since I’ve been having severe insomnia for the past month I took some Zzzquil but I’ve only been able to get 5 hours of sleep off of that, now I have a massive headache, my head feels so cloudy and dizzy I can barely stand and no matter how much I try I can’t go back to sleep. What do I need to do? Should I call a doctor?
UPDATE: Stupid Kaiser voice-activated menu, I can’t even get through the first step to get to my doctor. I’m wondering if I need to catch an Uber or something and go to the office myself.
UPDATE 2: Since I can’t get a hold of Kaiser I just contacted my old primary care and they’re going to get in touch with them for me.
So yeah, got in touch with my doc - it’s serious enough that I do need to see urgent care but not serious enough that I need to be carted off by ambulance and go immediately. My doc said I can just pretty much go at my convenience when I can, it’s not something that’s going to need short-term attention and if it is it’s going to be a long-term thing so I have a little time at least. I called emergency dispatch and told them to cancel any emergency services if any had been dispatched, per my doctor’s instructions. Sorry about this whole mess, birthday or not if I wasn’t in a serious medical panic (and if I could’ve gotten a hold of a doc easier) I wouldn’t have need to do this.
As to why I’m “crying out for attention” on Oppo instead of calling my doctor 1.) I did and I can’t reach them (resolved as explained above) and 2.) well it’s my freakin’ birthday and I’d like to go through it without experience a literal headache throughout all of it. I’m sorry, but I am kind of desperate, but again I was able to find a way to get the help I need.

Sounds like vertigo to me. I had a bad case of labryantitis one time that lingers with me which seems similar, but mine was obviously ear related.
Recommend a doctor, immediately.
Depending on what it is, could be stress induced, inner ear infection or a minor stroke.

Doctor please. Call your doctor. Or have someone call for you, but you should seek professional attention. You may have had an adverse reaction to the ZzzQuil

There's always the ER. This sounds like something you don't want to mess with.

Dude, go to a doc-in-the-box in a strip mall if you need to, or else an ER. Do not drive. Have Uber or someone else drive you. Just get seen.

Go to urgent care or Kaiser ER! Thank your lucky stars you don’t have BC/BS insurance.

Seems like you’re on your way to getting the help you need, but for future reference know where the nearest urgent care is. Faster than a doc, less serious and sometimes faster than an er, but they can always escalate to a hospital if that’s what you need. Good luck, get well.
